#PokemonGO #Gaming – Pokemon GO Fest Introduces Real-World Events, Anniversary Celebration Starts Next Week : Niantic has finally announced their anniversary celebration for their popular AR game. Dubbed Pokemon GO Fest, mobile gamers can expect a variety of activities to participate in this month-long celebration. Here’s what we know so far.
Not a Global Event
Earlier, players spotted what seemed to be a six-day long event for Pokemon in Chicago. This turned out to be the first-real world event for the mobile title. Called Pokemon GO Fest Chicago, Niantic will hold a ton of activities at Chicago, Illinois USA at Grant Park on July 22. However, specifics weren’t mentioned by Niantic.
Europe doesn’t miss out on the fun as they’ll have celebrations “across the continent” from June to September. These events will be sponsored by Unibail-Rodamco shopping centers, so its likely it will be held around the said establishment.
Meanwhile, a Pikachu Outbreak will be held in Yokohama Japan. Details weren’t fully discussed aside from the fact that players will have a “unique Pokemon GO experience.”
Ice & Fire Event
It looks like an earlier leak from Team Eevolution about an Ice & Fire event came true. Now called as the Solstice event, players around the world will get more chances of getting Fire-type and Ice-type Pokemon. Additionally, there’ll be XP bonuses for accurate Pokeball throws. Players will also receive discounts for Lucky Eggs.
The event officially starts on June 13, though it wasn’t stated when the event will end. Luckily, Team Evolution was spot on with their leaked information. It’s fairly safe to say that their 1:00 P.M. PDT start time and June 20, 2017 end date is also true.
As for what Pokemon will have an increase in spawn rate, here’s the list given before by Team Eevolution: Charmander, Cyndaquil, Growlithe, Houndour, Ponyta, Swinub, Vulpix, and their respective evolutions. There’ll also be an increase in spawn for Sneasel, Magmar, Cloyster, and more Fire-type and Ice-type Pokemon.
In a weird move, Gyms will be temporarily disabled for Niantic to implement these features. No specific time frame was mentioned, though Niantic assures it’ll only be “for a short period of time”.
Whether we get the Legendary Pokemon, the Gym Rework, PvP, and other anticipated features in this Pokemon GO Fest month remains to be seen. Considering this is Pokemon GO’s anniversary month, anything can happen. source
